To pay with check via mail, please send all payments to Liberty Advance c/o Registrar at our main address (above). For your convenience, Liberty Advance uses paypal for online payment. Simply click the button below, enter the amount of your purchase and click the "name of program you are paying for" button to let us know which program you are registered for.
Transportation: The nearest airport is the San Diego Airport. It takes 1-1.5 hours to drive to Liberty Advance from the airport. Arriving early in the day and departing on a flight 6pm or later will afford more opportunities to ride with another participant. Send your flight info to the registrar. We cannot guarantee a ride, but we make every effort to find you a ride from San Diego or Long Beach if you need one. Bus lines run to Boulevard only once weekly, so this is normally not an option. If you wish to share a car rental, notify the registrar.
Driving Directions: From I-5 in the San Diego area, take I-8 East and drive approximately 65 miles to the Boulevard exit. You will pass Pine Valley (approximately 20 miles before the Boulevard exit), the Live Oak Springs exit (look for the Golden Acorn Casino) and take the very next exit at Boulevard, which is exit #65. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp, go through the stop sign (Hwy 94/Old Hwy 80). Once you cross this intersection, you are on Jewel Valley Rd. Continue to the end of the road (approximately 3 miles). You will see our white fence on your left and 1585 posted on the left gate post. Drive through the double- door, white, iron gate (soft left off the dirt road, across from the mailboxes), pass the first set of buildings, continue down the dirt road bearing right until you reach the parking lot on the right side of the road, across from the pump house and three water storage tanks. Please do not park on the left side near the tanks. Use the green wagons to transport your belongings down the road to the retreat house. When you see the Buddha’s eyes, you have arrived! Take your belongings up the outside wood steps to the second floor.
What to Bring:
To be comfortable and prepared at Liberty Advance, we recommend you bring:
1. layered clothing for warm and cold weather
2. meditation shawl or blanket
3. environmentally friendly bathing products
4. sun protection (hat, lotion, sunglasses)
5. hiking or walking shoes
6. slip-on shoes
7. indoor slippers or socks in cooler weather
8. flashlight
9. sealed water bottle
10. notebook & pen (& practice materials)
11. clock (so you’ll be on time to class)
12. work clothes & gloves
13. bathing suit
14. bedding (sleeping bag or bedroll & pillow)
15. towel
16. earplugs (if disturbed by snoring)
In addition, if you do not bring bedding, you must rent ours for $15 if you use our futon. You may rent a towel for $5. Private room guests are provided bedding and towel. Please bring any practice materials that you have already received to the relevant courses. We do not have space in our refrigerators for your personal food. Please indicate any special dietary needs to the registrar. Guests making payments on-site must bring cash and exact change.
